Sedation dentistry

Pain/anxiety

At Wagga Family Dental we understand that visiting the dentist can be an anxious experience for some people. We work with you to address any concerns and manage your pain effectively.

We offer:

  • Gentle Local Anaesthetic technique. An anaesthetic gel is applied to the gum to ensure it is numb before the local anaethesia is injected. The process is gentle as we administer the anaesthesia at a comfortable pace.
  • Considerate use of instruments whilst we are examining your teeth and gums. We take great pride in ensuring our patients are happy and pain free during procedures.
  • The use of Oraqix (anaesthetic gel) whilst completing a deep clean of teeth and gums. This is applied topically near the gum line.

Sedation Dentistry

Some clients will do anything to avoid the dentist! Here at Wagga Family Dental we want to work with you to alleviate any fears you may have. We have a variety of sedation options which can assist with helping you make an appointment and sticking with it! We understand that many people have dental phobias developed over time so we take the time to listen to you and understand your worries. Our expertise and gentle manner have allowed us to support individuals and give them the confidence to have the specified procedure completed.

Sedation services can be optimal for patients who:

  • Have developed a fear of going to the dentist
  • Experienced poor treatment at previous vists to the dentist
  • Possess an extreme gag reflex which makes dental treatment impossible
  • Are unable to achieve the numbing sensation from a local anesthetic
  • Have very sensitive teeth
  • Would like a variety of procedures completed in one go
  • Dislike needles, noises and smells that they attribute to the dental practice.

Oral Sedation:

Relaxants or sedative tablets can be arranged (prescription and non-prescription.)

General Anesthesia:

At Wagga Family Dental we understand the importance of community and working together. We have developed a strong relationship with a nearby day surgery which incorporates dental facilities. In the instances where it is required, a registered anaesthetist with administer the anaesthesia then, our dental team can complete the required treatment.
