Teeth gum care and sensitive teeth

The best way to take care of your teeth and gums is to brush and floss every day.

Our recommended treatment options include visiting the dentist at least twice a year so that we can examine and thoroughly clean your teeth. A professional clean at the dentist can halt the early stages of gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) and periodontitis (gum infection.)

Indicators of gingivitis include bleeding/sore/inflamed gums as well as any discolouration of the gums.

Regular treatment at the dentist can fix gingivitis but if left untreated it can develop into periodontitis which affects the jawbone and can lead to bone loss. If the dentist examines teeth and finds evidence of periodontitis then a referral to a periodontist is required for specialist treatment.
